Today we end the series of frequent progress updates showing final screenshots of the new Flying Dutchman and the Hyper 4-seat across coaster. The flying coaster is the highest detailed train in NoLimits ever. Expect a lot of stuff to work like the real thing. We just finished the hyper trains and work on the standups has begun. Give us a few more days after that has been finished for clearing everything up and doing a couple of final tests and then we are done. We typically test while we are developing so we don't really have a beta testing phase and therefore don't need any new beta testers now. Because most of us work on this project in his and her sparetime, we never can tell the exact release dates. Ever so often something more important interrupts our work. One thing is for sure, it won't take a long time until release from now on. We will inform you by email anyway as proposed. Thanks for your time following the progress on this new upgrade. [ol]

Everybody in our team gave his best, to make this the coolest looking train ever in NoLimits, but our texturing genius Phyter gave it a very special treatment. Let the pictures speak themselves. The paint job obviously was inspired by Mr. Barth's Olympia Looping fun-fair transportable coaster. It fits nicely for all kinds of thrilling compact fun-fair layouts.
<spoiling>For all those people out there wanting to recreate a traditional Schwarzkopf looping coaster with lapbars only, we have something in progress, too.</spoiling>
Not quite finished, we are working hard on finishing the upgrade really soon. [ol]

Extra efforts were spent on redoing the steel looping coaster. We recreated the last generation of steel looping trains built and used on the travelling coasters 'Thriller', 'Wiener Looping' and 'Olympia Looping'. They will of course feature the proper accordion style harness movement beneath lots of other small details. I personally made sure the cars look as close as possible to the real thing and would like to dedicate those to the memory of Mr. Schwarzkopf, a genius who we think was way ahead of his time with his ideas and creations. Take a look at the untextured version of the cars in action.

I got lots of emails from people who have new email addresses meanwhile and would like to get the discount for 1.6. as well. Please send Mad-Data an email to

Be sure to tell them your old and new address and some more information about your purchase (e.g. home address) so they can validate it is really you. You will then receive the discount offer as well as soon as 1.6 comes out. Customers who will buy NoLimits now while the new upgrade is not out yet will receive the new upgrade for free. [ol]
Upgrade 1.6 will be huge. All the coaster styles with low detail levels that were made for the very first version of NoLimits will be redone for 1.6 with much higher quality. Also there will be a couple of new and complex coaster styles including flying coasters and spinning coasters. A couple of more coaster styles and features not presented here yet, might find their way into the program, too. Originally, 1.5 was meant to be the last update and we wanted to concentrate on NL2 but we could not resist to bring out another upgrade. A lot of internal discussion was made whether 1.6 should be free or not. Until now every update was free for every customer using NoLimits from the first version on, since end of 2001. We came to the conclusion that 1.6 would be worth some bucks and should not be free, but we will give customers of previous versions a discount. The price for the regular full version will not change, so people not having NoLimits yet will be able to buy 1.6 for the regular price. Customers of the previous version will receive a discount email offer to get NoLimits 1.6 for the discount price as soon as it is out. The discount price is not set yet but will not be higher than the half price of the regular full version. In all cases everyone who decides to buy it, will receive a full installer setup file with a new key. This cannot hurt, because the updated files will be large anyway and a lot of people might not have the original setup file any more.
Now lets get back to our screenshots. This time we show the new 4-seat across inverters and new standard footers for steel coasters. A lot of time was spent on recreating the real cars. Thanks go to Tom for his time on recreating the real thing as precisly as possible. Kudos also for Phyter who again did an incredible job in texturing it. Kay 'Buster' Grossweischede created the new footer for steel coasters. [ol]
